The Horns lost a long time fan yesterday over their 'We Are One' patches. Fess up, which one of you son of a guns is Alan???

Honestly, I was so happy it did not say BLM I didn’t mind the patch at all. I’m sure you can say I was using my burnt orange glasses and I won’t contradict it, but that was my reaction.

I am sorry to see any fan leave. I do understand. I like nashhorn was happy there no BLM and overlooked the other patch. My end would have been kneeling or not singing the eyes. Thank goodness they just stayed in the locker room. Be glad when this group of players leave and the coach also

Hate to say this to you er but get ready for them not singing. Sterns has made it clear he will not and they made sure not to stick around after first home game. There were a lot of excuses about lack of co-ordination because band was not there, and it will be more deliberate with the band, but it was obvious they (the team) was not going to show deference to the playing of the “eyes”.
Now me and wife sang more loudly than normal so there is that. :coolnana:

If they keep alienating alums, exes, fans, there may only be ONE left to cheer them on. The rest of us will have checked out and moved on

I didn’t watch either of the first two games. Sounds like Sterns et al played some tremendous defense holding Tech to 56. Maybe they should focus on football versus deciding what patch goes on the jersey?

Well nash there is good news and sad news about this. The good news is that Sterns will probably not be around next year as he will probably leave early. The sad news is that if he does make the NFL odds are he doesnt stay long with his attitude. But more importantly there is a long life after football. Most alums would not hire him for his attitude towards the school. I wouldnt hire him in my business because if he doesnt respect his school, fans or teamates he will certainly not respect my business. So Tom you were right I would not hire him or several others. Not because of their color.but because of decisions making, attitude and immaturity.

For fun, you should see the comments on twitter following that BON post. Never seen are larger group of lemmings.

To be honest, I was thinking the same thing. We are one just means they are a team and no one is more important than anyone else. I don't see an issue with that. It could help unite them, unlike the individuals that want their own selfish ideas implemented. We know who those are.

If they had come out with BLM t-shirts like the volleyball team I wouldn't be so happy. They can take that racist crap somewhere else.

"We Are One" seems pretty vague and harmless. You could interpret that a million different ways. I choose to think of it as something like, "we're a group of individuals who came together to form one team".

Well, if that is the case, it's lame. But, I seriously doubt that is the meaning and intent.

Youthful enthusiasm creates faddish movements. The enthusiasm is diluted by time.

breath slowly, relax and enjoy the spectacle. The cops are not going to murder all the blacks and Joe’s last name is not Stalin

lighten up, Francis

There seem to be several of us Francises on this thread, so which one are you talking down to? Just for scorekeeping purposes.

Joe doesn't have to be, he's nothing but an empty cranium puppet. He's got 100 little Stalin's pulling the strings.

Run Pincher would seem to fit the bill but all of us have been doing a lot of overreacting in recent months, myself included. When they said they were not going to sing The Eyes my wife had to talk me down off the ledge. The end of the earth is not in sight, said the blind man.

Like the soccer team...They wear BLM crap and they not only don't sing The Eyes, they don't even put their horns UP !!!!!!! The coaches put their horns up but the players don't.....They also kneel during the Anthem. **** the un-patriotic and disrespectful women of Soccer !!!! Tech's Bowman has more respect for UT than they do.
I have nothing against the We Are One patches. Those are cool ....

Sterns is taking the heavy academic route of sports management while Eagles is a 3rd year undeclared. Call me racist, but neither is going to be offered a job at my company. BTW, my daughter dates a college baseball player. He is an engineering major.

Hate they (soccer) have gone that far. As I previously posted I used to enjoy catching a Fri game. Fortunately my wife agrees so I don’t have to worry about disappointing her.

What's really sad about all this is the players who may not agree at all with what the "team" is doing. They just want to play soccer but now feel pressured to go along or be ostracized. They may not want to be the one or two that goes against everyone and be put in the political spotlight and judged unfairly by teammates. That makes their college experience absolutely miserable.

Could have been far worse, and you have to really look at it to understand it.

WEAREONE doesn't jump out at you from the jersey.

Not really original, considering every coin has the same concept in Latin - E pluribus unum. Should have had that on their costumes, for a touch of class.
