WE are NOT playing good basketball

I don't know exactly what happened, but we have taken several steps backwards over recent weeks. The turnovers are terrible as is the shot selection.

I'm just warning you, you better get a whole lot better in the next 2 or 3 days. Because you're about to go up against the best overall defensive team in this conference.

Bring your A game. You're going to need it.

Husker, again, I don't think anyone on this board that knows anything about Big 12 basketball is expecting to win on Saturday. I could very well see a 10-point loss.

HNK - most of us probably anticipate a loss to Neb on Sat. I know I do. The Huskers are playing well... Horns are out of synch and trying to find an identity or something

we are a ******* mess right now.....several threads already here as to why, but I don't think it is a shock to anyone at this point that we probably won't win Sat.

I don't think that it is that we have "regressed"....I think more teams have more film on us and realize that we are a one trick pony on offense and play us accordingly.

It is only going to get worse.

I'm glad a lot of you feel realistic about your chances and aren't overrating the team.

I'm fired up right now. Two road wins in a row - and if we win Saturday like I believe we should, we can really start thinking about other things besides NIT. Saturday's game is HUGE.

Meh, 76 is pretty bad when you are talking at large bids. RPI is obviously used heavily, but they are gonna look at other metrics too. As an example, OU is #1 in the RPI, UConn is #6, but there is no doubt at all in my mind that UConn would be the overall #1 seed.

Of the teams near NU in the RPI, I think only Kentucky has a chance at an at-large and they get boosted by the fact that the SEC has hardly anyone ahead of them and the cachet of being Kentucky (I know the committee would say no to both of these, but let's be realistic).

I mean, look at Baylor. They are at 51 right now, and they would def be out today. They have neutral wins over Providence and Arizona State, and all their losses are top 50. BU is 2-7 vs Top 50, 5-7 vs Top 100, NU is 1-4 vs Top 50, 3-4 vs Top 100. By comparison, OSU is 30 in the RPI, 2-6 top 50, 5-7 vs Top 100, and they are in trouble too.

I do appreciate you taking it the way I intended, not trying to be Debbie Downer, just love talking Bracketology. I would still say 7-1 is needed, with 3 out of 4 wins vs UT, KU, TAMU, MU. Tall order! We'll know a lot more tomorrow.

The committee always has put more emphasis on who beat who and n-c SOS than the RPI. I honestly cannot recall the last time I heard a committee chairman come out of the room and say they used it more than sparingly.

but they always do mention the weight they put on the last 10 games..".how the team is playing now"

Our UCLA and Villinova games are going to look a long way off if we keep this up.

First, they haven't gotten to the last 10 yet.

Second, the last time Texas was approaching the bubble, 2005, it won as a double-digit dog at Oklahoma State on senior night. A few days before that, it had gotten crushed at home by OU. After winning in Stillwater, it then laid a huge egg against Colorado in the B12 tournament. That team was 5-5 in its last 10, and still got an eight seed when the committee knew that it would not have Aldridge and Tucker.

Some teams go 9-1 or 10-0 in their last 10 because they play dog teams in a dog league. I don't think Texas would go 9-1 in its last 10 even if it were a top-10 team right now. It's up to the committee to sort out that kind of stuff.

Personally, I've always felt "last 10 games" was a crutch used by the committee exactly because of differing schedule strength.

They have to show some life at some point, and it would be nice if they started tomorrow, but it doesn't have to be tomorrow.

it wasn't the pg that hurt us today, it was lucky shot after lucky shot made by nebraska, and a number of coaching foul ups. why we didn't use that TO is absolutely inexcusable to me. rich needs to stick with a starting group, and stop experimenting. AJ can't take a game over, and he needs to realize that as well. I'd rather have James with the ball at the end going to the hoop. Hell, I'd rather have balbay going at the hoop.
