I don't know how many of you remember 1979. The overmatched Pirates were down to the Orioles, 3-1. Nobody gave them a prayer. The championship was going back to Baltimore.

Except that no one told the Pirates! They won Game 5 in Pittsburgh. Then went back and won Games 6 and 7 in Balty and claimed the title.

They didn't give up. And the Rangers shouldn't, either.

1. games 5-7, the pirates bully pitched 12 scoreless innings, in addition to good starting pitching
2. bill madlock was 4-4 in game 5 and stargell was 4-5 in game 7. need soneone in the heart of the lineup to step up for the rangers.
3. omar moreno was 6-10 in games 6 and 7. need elvis to do something similar

Last night was painful to sit through. Everything we hit hard was right at someone. I know their kid pitched a hell of a game, but still. I still don't know why you try to steal 2nd with 2 out and Nellie up.

With Tim Lincecum, a right hander, starting tonight, I think its time we move Cruz to the 4-hole to and put Murphy in the DH-Spot, hitting 5.

Anything David does will be much better than what Vlad is currently bringing us. Although we do not have a lot of power in the lineup, it would look something like this.

^^^^ Not me. I play Murphy instead of Francoeur and hits 7th or 8th. Vlad hasn't done much in this series after Game 1 but he still is a force to reckon with in the clean-up spot and is a big reason why the Rangers are even here.

Hell yes we can pull it off....and we don't need ugly looking (pirate 1979) caps to do it, either.

We can still pull this off...Get a few breaks our way, it's like a 3 game sweep. My fear is Lincecum is such a roller coaster type, he's probably riding the wave right now....he'll be tough to hit tonite....we just need some breaks and never quit.

Get us to game 7 and watch Sanchez have a Jouquin Andujar type of mental collapse in the first inning, ala 1985....That'll work for me. Anyone wanna pony up for the Coke and mirror for Sanchez? Worked for Andujar
