We added two more 4* recruits this year class - Without losing schollarship

In my opinion, we have added two more 4* recruit this year class. I don't try to be applied aggie logic in here. The players are:

Blaine Irby: I thought we would never seen him play. Since he is cleared to play, he will play a very important role on Brian Harsin offense. He should start by mid season. I consider him a 4* impact player with this year class.

Chris Whaley: We recruited him as a stud RB. He over grown himself and wasted a spot on crowded RB position. With Malcolm Brown in town, he is out of his position. Moving him to DE, not only help us with our thin DE position but he can be easilly replaced with Brandon which we lost to aggie. Don't get me wrong, he is a very talented young man, just out of position.

If Irby is fully recovered by the time next season gets underway, he should be a five-star. After all, how many stars would you assign to Bo Scaife, David Thomas or Jermichael Finley in hindsight?

I doubt Blaine will be the same, but if he is, he'll get it done.

There will be many interesting position battles to watch in the spring, but the most interesting will be TE. We have a ton of bodies and no one showed me anything last year. Really looking forward to Irby,Grant and Graham healthy, Terrell off his shirt, and all showing us what they can do. Matthews, Howard, and Jones doing something or moving.

If Irby is healthy, he has a huge year IMO. I think it could be possible he will become as important to the offense as Jordan was. One thing for sure, Harsin loves to use the TE.

I include Allen if he contributes this year because like Irby and Whaley, we didn't expect them to contribute this year.

I think all three will be great additions and contribute to a surprising season. Definately diamonds in the rough and well worth the chance to see if they can all live up to something whether this year for Allen and Irby or a couple years down the road for Whaley.

We are very thin at DE position and that's why we push full court to get Brandon Alexender from Brenham with inhouse visit from Mack, Manny, Bo and Oscar. He was leaning toward us but last minutes he committ to A&M. When Whaley moved to DE, atleast we will get quality backup from him. Whaley's move will offset the loss of Brandon without losing a schollie, in my opinion.

icthorn: i certainly hope you are correct about Whaley providing quality depth at DE, but we're talking potential for something that rermains to be seen. Would love to see a transformation along the lines of Henry Melton, but we haven't seen CW play a down at DE yet.

Along with others, I'm also hopeful that Blaine can have a stellar year--and, again, I think the potential is there. But when someone has missed as much time as he has, you have to put a big question mark there too. More so than with Jordan Shipley's development. Having said that, a productive Blaine I. would be an enormous help to GG and this offense.

Hard to find a team that didn't have potential starters injured. If just one of the 3 turn out to be healthy and beat out their competition to start, I'll call it a win. I just hope they can avoid injury and contribute

I hope Benny has a file with each kid and a program to sculpt his body and career.

The thing about kids is they are going to change radically over 4 years. 6 years if you think about getting commitments from high school juniors. It's a shame we don't hold a couple of scholarships open for those late bloomers that are destined for the pro bowl, the Clay Matthews if you will (who was a walk-on at USC). No bigtime programs do that and Texas is the same in that regard. You don't get that kid that had to really bust his *** to make it to the top.

Losing Jackson Jeffcoat the 2nd half of the season hurt as well and can't wait to see him back and playing. Guy is going to be one of the best we've had. Not sure I have seen a better freshman D lineman.

Tevin Jackson good to go as well.

this is really exciting seeing all these guys at one time. I absolutely loved watching Jeffcoat play. Kinda helped me get over the loss of Sergio. Excited for Tevin and his new opportunity. He could be a big help.

Hook'em!!!

OK, I don't like being the grammar police but I'm having a hard time letting this slide. I'm wondering if english is icthorn's first language? If not, then please excuse my reply. If it is, then really??
