Quadry

Anyone here going to try and make this trip? I am going to work on figuring out some prices for flights, hotel, etc. We have a group interested and all are planning on the flight being around $3000+. I just emailed a hotel about when they will be taking reservations.

If anyone else is thinking about this, let me know. SHould be an awesome trip and lots of great football.

Quadry, I'm in. Please keep me updated. I've been to many previous cups. Was pissed that I wasn't able to go to Germany. Really lookiing forward to this one.

am seriously considering this. I have a friend there and have already told him i'm crashing at his place if I do make it.

Hopefully the powers that be will realize what an atrocity on many levels it is to have it there and move it to the alternate location. If that happens, I will be there AGAIN for my second WC.

There is no end in sight to the escalating violence and the measures that will have to be taken to put a band-aid on it is just about massive human rights violations, as if they are not already going on. Couple that with the fact that the rich will get richer, the poor will be put in jail and not allowed near anything and you have the makings of a ****** World Cup. Wise up, FIFA and realize your African fantasy is not a smart move.

I think there was talk of moving the WC about a year ago. Hard to tell how much was true discussion from the powers that be and rumors. Isn't S. Africa the carjacking capital of the world?

Anyway, my family and I will be in Brazil for the next one. Wife's getting a translation job and I'm going to play beach soccer with my then 7 year-old son.
