Coach Valley to special assistant
Edwina to assistant coach
Shaeeta Williams takes over as assistant S&C coach.

Very odd timing. Sounds like Coach Valley didn't want to coach/recruit anymore.

Edwina was a great player for Texas, but have no idea about her coaching/recruiting abilities. You have to believe Clarissa Davis is fuming right now.

Hadn't thought about Clarissa. The timing is a bit odd, but who knows how long this has been under discussion, possibly due to seeking a less hectic role, health concerns, etc.

I don't know if Edwina has experience recruiting but she certainly has a magnetic personality and outstanding creditials. The staff has gotten a lot younger.

This is a bonehead move by Goestenkors. While I certainly support Edwina on the coaching staff, this move was a game of musical chairs, and I just don't see how this puts this program "in a level where few can match".

Coach Valley gets demoted; Sha gets thrown into Edwina's original assignment with assistance or consultation with Todd Wright; and Edwina takes on Valley's position.

Pam DeCosta must be laughing in her tracks....

I can't disagree that some of the changes seem a bit odd.

Mainly though I am excited about Edwina being an assistant coach. Just reading the player diaries etc since Edwina joined the staff, it appears the players have been responding strongly in a positive way to Edwina.

Great to see that Edwina is having such a great impact with the players.

Anyone who questions Edwina in this role has not spent much time around her. Good move.

Because now GV can spend more time with the players than previously allowed. Few programs have someone as qualifed as her and Sha able to work with their kids virtually year round. Seattle, knowing the NCAA rules and regulations would help you and your arguments in the future. Just FYI

That's your opinion. I'm sticking to my assertions that this move by Goestenkors is a bonehead move.

Still havent seen any support that shows how this move puts Texas is a "level" where few can match.

Edwina’s bio from earlier this year when she was named S&C assistant coach.
I remember her being named the Wade Trophy winner but had forgotten some of the other honors she garnered while playing for UT.
