Watson to the Portal

This is a typical example of the Herman program. Announce you're entering the portal in the middle of the season, but not just any season, the scamdemic season. Coaches have no idea how many games they will play, how many players there are coming back (major schools may have over 100 players on scholarship next year).

Schools with some interest may or may not have room (Tom Osborne has retired). Only home may be juco, where nobody knows who or where you are.

Kid is from Georgia - UGa is full and GT is an academic nightmare.

Is there no one that is paid to counsel these kids? How about counseling about agents? He already missed the boat on puppeteers.

Good luck, young man, wishing you the best in your future endeavors.

I wonder how any team keeps all their backups

OK, so please educate me about the Portal?
1. Can you leave a school during the playing season?
2. If so, can you then play that same season for another team?
3. Any limits with regards to what conference you can transfer into (same one)?
4. Do you need a real reason, or just that you want more playing time someplace else?
5. When you enter the Portal, do teams offer you spots, and the the player gets to decide if they want to take them or not?
6. If a player does enter the Portal, can their current school kick them off the roster and cancel their scholarship right then and there?
7. At the current rate, how long until a player gets the sads from not playing enough during the first half, enters the Portal, and then shows up in the second half playing for the other team?
8. Since it has the fantastic name of the Portal, to enter it, shouldn't players have to dress up in some sort of Star Trek uniform and stand on a circle, staying perfectly still, and then having various teams offer them a spot, or not? Then a cloud of smoke, and the player steps off the circle wearing the hat of either a new team, or their old one if no offers?

If it's going to ruin college football, at least make an enjoyable show out of entering it.
