water pressure drop (updated)

The water pressure in my bathroom just dropped about a month ago. Everything works fine, but the shower pressure used to be awesome. Any advice on where to start to remedy this problem?

Is there an easy way to measure water pressure?

BTW, I remodeled my bathroom a little under a year ago. Not sure that's relevant, since it worked fine for 9-10 months.

update:
Took it apart and found sediment (small rocks and gritty stuff) all up in there. Easy to clean out for just the shower head. Not looking forward to doing the same thing for the toilet.

Anyone know where this might come from? I wasn't doing anything to the water lines. Is it from elsewhere in my pipes, or from the city of Austin water supply? Should I put in a filter or something?

Is the sink different? You can try unscrewing the shower head to check for blockage. Depending on your water, calcium deposits can build up and clog the head / lower the flow.

Yes, the sink is new, as well as the shower and toilet (and all the walls, floors, etc.).

I'll check out the shower head first. Thanks!

If you have a water softener that uses a filter, be sure to change out the filter. I recently changed out the filter on my water softener and the water pressure returned to normal.

Apparently you're supposed to change them out every three months. I was going on a year with the one that I replaced.
