Watching Championship Game on a Cruise??

Hey guys,

I'm going to be on a Royal Caribbean Cruise during the national championship game... I've never been on a cruise before, but I assume I should be able to get the game, right? I see that there is a sports bar on the ship. I assume they just get satellite TV just like normal?

Can you guys ease my nerves?

Thanks!

If they have something billed as a 'sports bar' and don't show the national championship game I'd demand my money back...

You should be fine.

I was on a cruise when we played Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl. Oddly, the ship got ESPN's Spanish network, but not regular ESPN, so they didn't have the game and claimed they couldn't get it.

They did have the NFL network and ABC/CBS/NBC. I am sure you'll be fine. The party atmosphere should be pretty awesome!

I took a Royal Carribean cruise a couple of summers ago and I am guessing it will be on. I watched the final round of the PGA Championship in the sports bar.

Watched the Texas-Michigan Rose Bowl in a dancing lounge on Voyage of the Seas (I think it was) - was very drunk and happy when Dusty's kick cleared the uprights. If there are enough people wanting to watch the game, they will set something up for you.

I was on a cruise during the LSU-Ohio State championship, and not only do I recall the game being played on multiple TVs, but I also remember a lot of people wearing their team's colors. So you might not be the only one who wants to see it.

If you had been on a Princess Cruise, more than likely the game would be shown on the "Movies Under the Stars" on deck giant movie screen where they show the first run movies nightly. But I've seen them "televise" sporting events like the NBA Fiinals or a big soccer match, a baseball game....never been on Royal Caribbean, don't know if they have these types of outdoor screens, but I bet they have a sports bar.

I was on the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas last year during the Texas-OSU bowl game. They showed the game in the sports bar (my wife and I were the only UT fans among a sea of red in there) and also showed it on TV in the cabin a little after the first quarter started. I would guess the National Championship game this year will definitely be in the sports bar and probably in your cabin as well.
