Washington: Manager off the year?

did a little google earlier, Washington's name is not even mentioned, I think he really deserves it from last year, and I think sometimes these awards come a year late.

I don't have a problem with hiim coming in 2nd or 3rd, but the guy is not even mentioned in the pieces I've read.

wonder if it's because of the cocaine thing?

He cobbled together 96 wins, behind only Philly and the Yankees who had substantially more to play with. He certainly should get a ton of attention for it if not be the front runner.

The Rangers need to start giving him some promo. He has increased wins 4 straight years and done a helluva job pushing all the right buttons. He should receive strong consideration for Manager of the Year.

He should receive strong consideration but, as much as I like what Wash has done and continues to do, it is difficult to give him the nod over Madden and what he has done with Tampa Bay after they slashed their payroll and lost several key players from last year's team. Last year really should have been the year for Wash to get it IMHO.

Wash looked to be on his way out a few years ago and then along came Nolan and things turned around. I think that keeps him from getting some of the credit he is due.
