want gas cooktop, no gas in the hood

I already checked with my local gas company and there is no gas available in my neighborhood. Does anybody know how difficult it is to set up a new gas cooktop to be fueled by propane?

Very easy to do this assuming it's new construction. Virtually any gas stove can use either natural gas or propane. The only difference is in the size of the orifice that the gas flows from when it spreads out onto the burner. 99% of the time you just buy a set of replacement orifices from the manufacturer, install them, and your stove is converted.

If you have a house that has already been build, you'll have to run a gas line from the propane tank to the stove. Unless your stove is on an exterior wall conveniently close to the propane tank, there will be cutting of walls to be done, but this is going to require you to get someone to actually look at your house and tell you what's required.

PM me if you have specific questions.

Thanks. We are getting ready to rennovate our kitchen. It will kind of be new construction. Where is a propane tank usually placed?

I know someone who's gonna be happy...

You need to check with the city and make sure you
can put a propane tank in your yard. I can see a propane tank flying like a lead balloon in many neighborhoods.
