Alexis Wangmene, the Longhorn forward who missed most of last season, his sophomore year, with a knee injury, has received approval by the Big 12 to regain a full season of eligibility. He will return to the team as a sophomore. The Link
Good to know. We'll need his size after Dex graduates. Hopefully he stays for his entire eligibility, but I wouldn't be surprised if he left a year early. He has lots of potential.
Defensively, he's going to be a beast. It'll be his offensive game that dictates his future.
I agree that he sometimes looked taller...who knows what kind of shoes he was wearing though. But he's listed at 6'7 on the roster and considering those heights are normally INflated if anything, I'd say 6'7 is pretty accurate.
I agree that he could be a pretty dangerous force in time, especially with his long arms, but I just don't think he's the kind of guy who will ever even consider taking his game to the NBA early.
He may look taller because his wingspan has been reported to be 86 inches (7'2") - a major reason he is a seriuous shot-blocking threat, as well as good rebounder.
Here's where the 86 inches reference came from. The Link
Don't know if that's official, but he definitely has a longer than normal wingspan, which is why he will play bigger than 6'7".
