Walter Cronkite died today at the age of 92.

He was a UT alum, and a good one. I'm sure most on here know, but he is the voice on all the recent UT commercials.

He was most known for being a reporter for CBS, and reported on some of the most major events in the US history, including the Cuban missile crisis and the JFK assassination

Walter Cronkite wasn't just the face of American journalism, he was the conscience of this great nation. The world is a poorer place without him.

Walter, and rest in peace.

Time to darken the very Tower that his voice made burn brighter and more mighty. Thank you, Walter Cronkite, you Longhorn, you.

After a remarkable 92 years, the soul formerly known as Walter Cronkite gets a well deserved break from this physical world. My prayers are for his family and countless friends as they deal with their loss.

"...and a Longhorn named Bevo."

RIP Walter. I'm glad he lived a long life and made the best of it and that's all anyone could ask for.

Someone dim the Tower for this man. Sad day but his voice will live on!
