Walking Golf Course Affects Swing, Performance

Did they not have a control group? Not sure what you learn by having mid to high handicappers hit 140 drives in one afternoon.

Yeah, it seems to me if you took the same group, but instead of having them walk between sets of shots, you just had them sit for a few minutes, their swing would still break down toward the end.

140 driver swings? good lord. yeah anyone is going to start breaking down with that many. you swing that club 10-12 times during a round and they are making statements based off 140 swings. nice.

and 1 mile walks in between and then 20 shots at a time? this isn't even remotely comparable to golf.

I can understand a cart when it's 100 degrees out, but as a general rule I'd rather walk or not play. I can't stand courses that are laid out so poorly the only feasible way to play is in a cart.

I always walk if I can, but this month I am injured and have to ride.
It makes me miss putts.

6 miles + 140 shots is a pretty good estimate for 36 holes. 36 holes is pretty grueling and most 20 handicappers would be falling apart by the end.

Of course, a better estimate would be hit a tee shot, walk 200 yards, hit an iron shot, walk 150 yards, hit a chip shot, walk 50 yards, hit a chip shot, walk 30 feet, putt, putt, putt, throw a club, chug a beer, repeat.
