opposing teams defense. Why is it that we always wait for the other teams defense to line up before we snap the ball? There were at least 2 times in the last game FAU wasn't lined up and we waited for them to get set. Why not go with the play called while the other team is running to get to there positions?

I've always wondered the same thing myself when I see an offense wait on the defense to setup. I understand the advantage of knowing where the defense is going to line up and being able to read what they're going to do, but I have to believe you could burn them badly if you snap it before they get in position and have time to setup what they plan to execute.

Maybe it's force of habit. You play the way you practice and they will wait on the defense to get set up at practice.
