I don't think he's hurt, I think he's been beat out by Fozzy Whittaker. He did look really slow last night. I've seen people claim that the Oline didn't get a good push in the running game, but I think they did a great job. Fozzy exploited the holes they gave him, Vondrell was too slow to hit them and the hole was gone by the time he got there.
The 2 are completely different runners. Fozzy suites the offensive scheme much better. I loved the quick draws where he would just go straight up the field. Obviously he is much quicker as well.
McGee seems better in a more traditional running scheme which we all know is not what UT does. McGee would do better in the schemes UT ran 4-5 years ago. He seems to have lost some speed since last season and was most effective then when they had him in there with Chiles.
The OL did get a good push at times and the pass blocking was good enough. They weren't exactly mauling UTEP but they held their blocks. I personally didn't like they side to side running schemes of last year that they ran a bit early on.
