I've got Verizon land line with Comcast cable modem and am thinking about switching to Vonage. Anybody have experience with them, especially in this area? How is the sound quality, customer service, and any hidden charges? Thanks

One scam. The Texas Att'y general is suing them for not making it clear to their customers that they do not get 911 service unless they separately activate it.

The Vonage phone adapter is available at retail outlets like Circuit City, Best Buy etc. . Why would any customer buy it when it is available for free from Vonage via mail?

Service is fine, just remember to set up your 911 info.

The only problem I've had is that I requested my line transfer end of January, its now end of March and it hasn't transferred yet. You can't cancel your local service until the transfer is completed. SWB has billed me for 2 additional months. Going to have to fight it out with them tomorrow.

I'm a recent customer and have had problems with the 911 access. My number was not transferrable either. The service has been fine but I'm probably not going to keep it.
