Volvo XC90

We've got Kid No. 1 coming this summer and we're looking at getting a responsbile SUV -- i.e. not an H2 -- to cart the little guy/girl around. We're looking really hard at Volvo's XC90. I've never owned a Volvo so I can't speak to reilability, etc.

My wife's got an Audi A4 that's ALWAYS got something wrong with it. Would we be treading down the same slope with a Volvo? Those that have owned Volvos, what's your experience been like?

B ought a used S70 from a friend about four months ago. Most people I talk to are pretty high on the engine and say it will run a forever if maintained. So far so good although the electric window went out and that wasn't cheap.fwiw

My mom bought an XC90 about 9 months ago and she loves hers. She bought i mainly for the safety features it offers. Anwyays, I borrowed it for the trip to Lubbock for the UT-TTU football game last fall and it really drives like a car. There is plenty of legroom / headroom as well. I believe it is built on a car chasis, which is why it rides so smooth. And I believe they are the safest SUVs out there.
