Coach Jerritt Elliott continues to prove why he is an extraordinay recruiter.

6'3 Outside Hitter, Haley Eckerman of Waterloo, IA has chosen Texas over Nebraska, and is the second public commitment for the class of 2011, joining 6'6 Middle Blocker, Madelyn Hutson of Brentwood, TN. Eckerman is regarded by many as the top player in the nation, while Hutson is a top 10 national recruit.

Also, 5'7 Setter, Chloe Collins of Cypress Woods H.S. in the Houston area is said to have commited to Texas for the 2013 class; she is a freshman, and was voted Newcomer of the Year in District 15-5A, where she led Woods to an 18-0 district record.

Want more good news? There is some speculation that 6'1 Middle Blocker, Katherine Bell of North Mesquite has also committed to Texas for 2011; and, yes, she is also considered a top 10 national recruit.

Katherine Bell of North Mesquite has in fact committed to Texas for 2011. My apologies in referring to Haley Eckerman as the nation's top recruit, as some feel that honor goes to Bell. Eckerman is definitely top 3 nationally.
