Volleyball at ISU on Sunday 12:00pm CST ESPNU

Well now that leads to another question....

Why don't they play on Saturday at noon, would they not get a bigger crowd and allow Texas to save some travel costs?

The Iowa State football team plays at home Saturday evening.

Logistics for Volleyball are generally messed up when a match is played on a football day. This might explain the Sunday scheduling.

Drift:

Not that I don't believe you but I need more detail on Volleyball Logistics vs. Football logisitics. The two events are 6 hours start time apart and the finish of the Volleyball game would make it at least 4 hours.

I would think they could have a record Volleyball crowd(ISU is real good this year).

Again, not doubting you and did not check the sarcasm meter, just would like to know, thanks in advance.

Tailgaters and early arriving football fans make parking a nightmare on most large campuses on a football game day. Most parking spaces are reserved for big donors and traffic is a mess all around campus.

Texas reserves volleyball parking spaces for Longhorn Foundation members on football days, but if you are on another campus, good luck. I wound up parking 10 miles away and taking public transportation to the Nike Big 4 matches at Gainesville two years ago on a football game day.

Can anyone recommend a place that has enough TVs and Longhorns spirit that they'd be willing to show the VB match on one, and which also has a layout that would allow keeping an eye on three NFL games also starting at noon?

We won the 1st game and loss the 2nd game.I would like to see Adams and Webster get the ball more.

Texas won the 3rd game.Look much better, with Adams and Webster involved in the offense!

I wonder why Hannah dont do more backward sets to her hitters. Everytime she did that connection with Webster, it was a kill. It also throws the block off. I just like feel our offense is so predictable. I looked at the game again. I know our passing must improve in order for the offense to run much smoother. But I felt like their were times when she could have went to Webster, and she did not! I would like to see more backrow attacks too! Servicing Errors are killing us! Also mix up the offense. We just go pin to pin.Move your Outside Hitters in sometimes. And poor R.Adams is a 1st team all-america,but she might just miss that award. Because we are not able to get the ball to her! Lets Go Ladies! Ready for AM!

A lot of that has to do with the passing. Hannah was having to set the ball on or beyond the 3 meter line which makes it difficult to backset to the RS or even to go to the middle. That's why our OHs are getting some many attempts...they are having to hit a lot of out-of-system balls. And that's also the reason why Adams' stats are lower this year...they haven't been able to run the middle consistently and she should be our go-to player. The MBs for Texas only had 28 hitting attempts in this match, while ISU MBs had a total of 50 attempts because of better passing.

Having Sha'dare back in the line-up will help our passing. Yogi is an excellent digger, as she showed against ISU, getting a lot of those hard driven shots off the floor. Her passing on serve-receive, OTOH, is still too inconsistent for a Libero. But Elliot is intent on keeping her back there for her leadership abilities. Palmer's role is constantly changing as she will sometimes be asked to play back row or all 6 rotations depending if Bell is struggling. Bell and Roberson are both shank-aholics at this point.

With Sha'dare slowly being worked back into the line-up, it will be interesting to see what changes Elliot makes personnel-wise. I hope he continues with the 5-1 and keeps Adams, Eckerman, and Webster where they are. They are proving to be our most consistent point-scorers. Bell should be moved to MB as her lateral quickness and vertical jump will allow her to close the blocks faster than Hutson and she is an effective hitter in running the slide. Sha'dare should then be moved to the 6 rotation LS hitter to help stabilize the passing, while putting up a consistent LS block. But, of course, this is all dependent if Sha'dare is able to play front row after having her injury. If any changes are made, it will be after the A&M game on Wed, as the team has a whole week off to play around with the line-up.

Texas wins the 1st game 25 - 15.
Look much better tonite!
Eckerman is a 1st Team All - America
