I'm not really sure why they think she'll be any more successful at recruiting Texas since Baylor & A&M are still in the state.

PDX this is not a flame toward you in any way, but do you really not understand why the AD's "think" she won't be more successful? It is pretty clear that the rational for expecting improvement in recruiting, especially in Texas, is because of

1) past track record recruiting IN Texas

2) relationships with coaches from the past, which has been stated hasn't changed much in the last 5 years. She did say there was some AAU turnover

You may not agree that Coach A will beat out A&M for our share of recruits, but I think it is clear why it is believed she will.
