okay, after reading the costa rica thread below i went and checked out this airline. i thought the poster below made a mistake typing or something. what is even more amazing than the $9.99 fare from Austin to Cancun is the other fares they offer. They offer Monterrey to almost anywhere in Mexico for 1 peso. That is right, you can fly from Monterrey to Puerto Vallarta for 1 peso plus fees/taxes. I booked a flight roundtrip for $100.
So, tell me this.
how in the **** are they making money. I could see if they only offered a couple seats at these prices, but i did a lot of messing around and there are a lot of seats at this price.
i read some reviews on the web and although it is defintiely no frills etc.... overall it has gotten positive reviews from those that weren't expecting much in the way of service.
any insight from anyone on how they are making money?
