Hi guys, over the past year I have gotten an Apple TV, an Ipad, Kindle on my PC and started using Steam on my PC.

I have not used a DVD since I got my Apple TV.

I have not bought a PC game other than that dragon whatever RPG since they dont have a license with Steam

I haven't bought a music CD in 5 years

I was one of those "like to hold the book morons" and didnt get kindle on my 2.8 lb notebook PC (wife got the ipad) and used to lug around books when travelling (145000 mles so far this year).

I am about to throw out all my CDs, DVDs and paperback books.

Appears kindle is perpetual virtual storage for books
The Link

Steam is defiintely perpetual virtual storage for games, ITunes appears to be perpetual virtual storage for music and movies.

Am I missing anything or can i get rid of my physical media?

Anny issues I need to know of? I live in HK and space in my house is limited and I'm havining a baby so i need to clear out closets and cabinets.

I'm not a gamer so I can't help you whither Steam.

As far as your Kindle stuff goes you've got virtual storage through Amazon.

As far as iTunes is concerned be sure you back up your system using something like Time Machine or other backup tool.

We got rid of our CDs and most of our DVDs long ago. We keep a few DVDs on hand for the kids in the car. Now that they all have some sort of iDevice we'll likely get rid of the rest.

I am one that can't give up physical books. I tried with a Kindle for about 6 months and didn't like it at all. Gave it to my wife and she absolutely loves it. I then tried again with my iPad with the same result and I like you travel a lot (around 105k this year so far). Real books with pages only for me. I do love the iPad for newspapers though.

I could get rid of my dvd's and I guess my books but could not music. I just can't or couldn't. This is especially true with vinyl. It is too precious to me, especially certain bands. It reflects, physically, too much to me and what was going on in that time of life.

If you bought any of those cd's at the corner of 21st and Guadalupe I would hang on to them. They are like photos of a time of your life that I am sure you are fond of when thinking of it. Then again, you need the space.

I don't read enough to justify getting a Kindle but I do have great friends/people who send me books that are critical reading.
