I got a quote one time just because I was curious how much the stuff costs. I was told that they could give me a great discount and cover the woden gables and eaves of my 2000 sq ft, single story, brick house for $12,000. I cant see why anyone would even want to put that **** on their house let alone pay an amount like that.
If I was ever to re-do the siding on my house I think that I would investigate using Hardy board. It looks and feels like wood and is not supposed to rot.
hardie is the way to go. No rot and no expansion and contraction due to weather cycles -- which is one of the primary reasons paint doesn't last as long as we would like on wood.
I have heard ads for a product called "spray on siding". Supposedly much more durable than regular paint. My house is going to need to be repainted in the next year or two and I don't think I want to do it myself this time. Has anyone heard or know anything about this stuff?
