Villains in the next Batman

Was thinking about this today. I would like to see the mad hatter. I think Willem Dafoe would be awesome as the Mad Hatter. I would mind seeing the Riddler but I don't know if his character is dark enough for this Batman series. Black mask would be good but I don't know who would play him. Thoughts?

Catwoman.... a REAL catwoman, not that bad rendition that Halle Berry did (not slighting her, just the movie). Catwoman is always the answer to Batman villian I most want to see.

Catwoman and the Mad Hatter wouldn't really blend into Nolan's univserse. Same goes with Penguin, Mr. Freeze and the like.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Bane or possible The Riddler. But he is pretty similar to The Joker so i doubt it.

I would love to see Bane and the "Knightfall" story line with him breaking Bruce Wayne's back and Azrael taking over as Batman and updating the batsuit. But that'd be a very long movie for them to do it right.

There's a RUMOR that Angelina Jolie would be interested in playing Catwoman.

Theres rumors that Johnny Depp would be the Riddler. But alot of people think the Riddler was in the movie as the guy who found out Bruce Wayne was Batman

Also Nolan is on record as saying the Penguin is not a realistic enough villain for him

KGBeast?

Not too look to far from the present plot line, but I think giving The Scarecrow top billing as the main villain wouldn't be a bad idea.

The scarecrow would not capture imaginations unseen, but he would fit very well.

I think the Penguin has alot of potential for a distorted, hunchbacked person with a mean, nasty, birdlike visage.

I think the Riddler would be one of the few batman villains that would work in Nolan's universe. But you would have to make him different enough from the Joker, which might be hard to do.

Make him more of a serial killer than a terrorist, maybe?

Bane, too, would be interesting, but a super strength serum (or whatever the hell it is that makes Bane strong) might also be too unbelievable for Nola's Gotham.

Speaking of Nolan's Gotham... will the next movie actually be set in NYC?

Maybe it was just me, because I lived in Chicago, but the fact that sooo many shots were very obviously Chicago really peeved me. Some of the tighter shots I knew were Chicago just because I lived there, but others were just obviously NOT NYC... which is Gotham? Right?

Yes but his name was Coleman Reese. The Riddler's name is Edward.

And thats a shame because it would have been a cool way to introduce his character.

well there's another guy i've been thinking about. i think Anthony Michael Hall's character, the TV reporter, Mike Engel will be Riddler, AKA E.E. Nigma. my friend is pseudo psycho about movies and has somehow implanted this in my head.

honestly, i wouldn't care for jolie as catwoman.

When I was a kid, Batman dealt with another vigilante who was all in red. Except this vigilante killed everybody with a cleaver.

That'd be a decent movie villain, I suppose.

Last year there were rumors on the internet that anthony michael hall was going to be Edward Nigma in the Dark Knight. Turned out to be false.

Don't forget Two-Face.

I just saw the movie and I think it would flow fine to have Two-Face in the next one. It makes sense too, considering the way they ended this one. Harvey Dent's memory is preserved as the white night idealistic crime fighter. No one knows that he became two-face for a while. So what if he "died" in this one? Harvey died and two-face lives. It's actually perfect.

yes, the rumors for him being riddler in dark knight were false. that doesn't mean anything about his role in the next film. it's in dark knight as it was in batman begins. just have to look deeper.

Why was Scarecrow in the beginning of Dark Knight? Didn't he go to jail or something in the first one? I mean Cillian Murphy was basically an extra. Am I wrong?

I think the Riddler would work, maybe he's sort of like the guy in Saw, torturing people with riddles that if they don't solve they die, so he's a little darker than the Jim Carey version.

Eckhart and Ledger were supposedly signed on to do 2 movies so Two-Face is still a possibility in the next one.

For whatever reason, I felt Scarecrow was pansified in Dark Knight and I lost all respect for his character.

Not sure how he could suddenly become fierce and respectable enough for me to enjoy him as the main villian.
