Video Import Software

I need to import some video from a digital camcorder via firewire (not using a tuner or anything specialized) to burn on a DVD. I have a cool burner, but no software for the import or burn. A buddy told me to get 1clickdvdcopy or DVD cloner II to copy DVD to DVD, but I wanted to know I also need to get software to accomplish the video import? Has anyone used these two before or have better suggestions?

There are lots of applications that will do what you want. For starters, you can use Pinnacle Studio 9 from Pinnacle Systems. For $100, it will allow you to import the video from your camera to your hard drive via firewire, edit the movie, add titles, special effects, and then burn to DVD. If you're a student, there are academic versions available -- you might check out Academic Superstore.

Lots of money to be spent if you want to get real serious.
