What is the best hotel and best restaurant Victoria has to offer? I know it is a smaller town so I'm not expecting much. Just wanting to know what is the best it has to offer. Thanks ...

hhmmm....lemme see...we're not talking alot of places here you know.

The "best" restaurant is probably "Olde Victoria" in downtown Victoria....if it is even still open. Somewhat upscale dining for Victoria. My in-laws really like this new place called "Sky restaurant" out by the airport.

Victoria just doesn't have much to offer in terms of Mom & Pop places....the chains have taken over. There might be a Mexican food place hidden somewhere that someone knows about...Veracuz might still be your best bet.

In terms of hotels...there are several new one by the Mall....those are your best bet...they aren't fancy though. Do a search.

Thanks for the info. Any more specific recommendations out there?

Dude...you're really SOL. I talked to one of my co-workers who just went down there this weekend. Olde Victoria is closed down.

She said that the best place to eat was probably "Tejas" or Veracuz...both Mexican food. There's also a steak place called Montana Mikes that's decent and there's a Texas Roadhouse as well. Then there's Fossati's Delicatessen which is actually a very good place to eat lunch. For seafood, avoid Pelican's Wharf at all costs...terrible.

Good luck!

Olde Victoria is not closed. It has moved to the O'Connor plaza and it has great food.

Probably the best motel, and it is sad to say, is the La Qunita by the mall.
