Has anyone here ever challenged the early termination fee that Verizon Wireless threatens to impose if one leaves their empire for another cell service provider? I've never signed a contract with them & have had service since they were PrimeCo years ago. The clueless "Customer Service" reps I've spoken with claim that I have a one-year contract with them, but each time I speak with someone there, they have a different date on record as to when this alleged "contract" is over. I want out for various reasons, but I go nuts every time I'm on the phone with one of those twits (especially the ones whose language I cannot understand...
)
I've had it with Verizon & am thinking of moving to Cingular, but I refuse to pay the $175 per line (we have two lines) early termination extortion fee.
What am I in for with these idiots?
