Verizon FIOS Question

I have Verizon FIOS internet service but cannot get the TV service. Don't the internet and TV service both come down the same wire? If so, why do they offer the internet service and not the TV?

I did contact Verizon and the kid on the response line gave the excuse that "they might be having trouble negociating access to some local channels." When DirecTv had that issue recently, they just dropped those channels until the negociation was complete. Thus I do not think the responder knew the real reason why I cannot get FIOS TV.

Maybe that is the reason. Maybe they're required by regulation to provide local channels in order to offer cable service of any kind

For whatever reason, there are areas that get actual Verizon FIOS programming, and others where Verizon simply carries DirecTV on their fiber optic network. Don't know why, and for the most part, neither do they.

Because they're stupid. I have Fios and they told my neighbor that it isn't available in our area. I would never got rid of Directv if wasn't for LHN. We had Fios internet already and when we added tv, it totally confused them.
