Verizon cell phone questions

Some of you may have seen my post a while back about my crappy Samsung phone breaking. Well, I almost bought a Blackberry today, but I keep hearing that the Treo 650 will be out soon for Verizon.

Does anybody

a) know the release date?
b) have any suggestions for getting a phone to carry me over until then? I can't buy it from Verizon, because they will count it as my $100 off new phone purchase (My contract is up in 2 months)

FWIW...........I've heard that Verizon isn't going to carry the 650. Granted, that's just "conference room gossip", but that's what I heard.

Verizon does carry the 600, and everyone I know that has one of those loves it...........but based on what I've heard, I wouldn't wait on the 650.
