I need some help from the experts here. I have some uncooked venison sausage.
What is the best way to cook it?
I have in the past just slaped it on the grill. But since I have been reading the BBQ post on hornfans, one of you guys probably have a technque that will far exceed anything that I will think of.
 
Slapping it on the grill works, just make sure the coals are burned down, don't put it directly over the coals. You don't want to burn it.

Put the coals on one side of the grill and the links on the other, cover, and smoke them until the juice runs clear. Add some soaked mesquite chips for extra flavor.
 
another way to check if sausage links are done is to gently bend them and if they break in half they are done enough to eat. You can cook them more (i usually do) but at that point they can be eaten.
