Vegetarian places in Austin

A good friend of mine and her daughter are visiting Austin during Spring break and they are vegetarian. I remember a thread about vegetarian locales, but for the life of me can't remember the names of places other than Kirby Lane and Red River cafe offering vegetarian dishes. Any other ideas?

i am far from a vegetarian, but i do like to eat vegetarian sometimes and have had plenty of non meat eating friends

mother's (hyde park)
mr natural (2 locations, i've never been to the one on s. lamar)
casa de luz (vegan)
veggie heaven (on the drag) tastes great, but i never feel like i am eating healthy there, i think everything is cooked in lots and lots of oil and sugar
whole foods downtown will have lots of vegetarian selections to eat there, or take home
thai kitchen (2 or 3 locations, drag location is best) has lots of vegetarian entrees (tofu & vegetable pad thai is awesome)
ruby's to get your que on and still give your quests a good amount of tasty vegetarian selections
i'm sure others will have many more reccomemdations

Gak nailed the majority of my suggestions. All are very good.

The tofu at Thai Kitchen is the best tofu I've ever had (I'm not really a tofu fan at all). The black bean tacos at Ruby's are awesome, and most of their sides are vegetarian as well.

I love Casa de Luz (especially taco night), but if you go on a non-themed night, it can be kinda bland. Check casadeluz.org for their calendar. Pizza night is very good. It's macrobiotic and mostly raw, which isn't necessarily something most people enjoy, but I think it's very good.

Austin is a very veggie-friendly city so you guys should be alright.

Most places in Austin are pretty vegetarian friendly. You could always go the tex-mex route, since cheese enchiladas are awesome.

Austin is pretty easy for a vegetarian, vegan is a little tougher. I would only add that that IMO Madam Mam's is better than Thai Kitchen -- their green curry and Tom Kha are both excellent.

Edit: I never really liked Veggie Heaven, I think there are much better places to go. (I'm vegetarian too.)

Aster's Ethiopian - absolutely delicious. I have enjoyed it since it opened. It is located next to the Roadway Inn (where the enchilada place was) at 26th and IH35 Frontage Road southbound. (just before you take the ramp to get on 26th/Dean Keeton).

Madras Pavillion - Indian Food. Burnet and 183.

Gourmet 2 Go - Northbound Frontage to 35 just north of 32nd. The guys used to be chefs at either Whole Foods or Central Market, I think the latter.

As others have said, Veggie is awesome in Austin. A very friendly vegetarian town. A good friend of mine is Vegan so I will ask him for other suggestions.
