Left from Austin Bergstrom July 4th. That airport was damn near empty.
Stayed 4 nights (free) at Bally's starting on the 4th - scored a 26th floor high roller suite on the first night with the $20 tip at check-in (still milking the 40th anniversary thing one month later). Pretty cool plush 1,800 square foot digs (I measured it). Enjoyed sitting in the big jacuzzi with the wine & Stoly lookin' out the 20 foot wide window wall. Had a nice steam bath the next morning. That suite would accommodate a meat for at least 50-60 people. Took lots of photos, but still am too inept to post them. Too bad.
Moved to a regular renovated room for the next three nites.
Went with Marc to Boulder Station for a Savoy Brown Concert Thursday evening....had a blast and got to meet bandleader & badass guitar artist Kim Simmonds, Marc's bud.
Went over to Caesars to the Sportsbook meat for a few minutes Friday, then hit several lounges there with Pea & Marc.
Went by the Harrah's meat Saturday, but was frightened off like a herd of critters at an NRA meeting when the Karaoke started.
Did the Bellagio Champagne Brunch Sunday, then moved to Wynn for the last two nights. @ $119/nite.
Mrs.Sco played the penny slots, winning $100 , $80, & $60 at vaarious casinos - that's a lot of pennies.
Ate at Mesa Grill in Caesars one night, the Burger Brasserie (Paris) another, had a 3X3 at In-N-Out (mediocre burger, as were the fries & shake.....I don't understand the hype).
Somewhere in there we drove out to Lake Las Vegas & the Casino Montelago...where Mrs.Sco won $100 on an Elvis penny machine. The shopping village was hotter than the Strip, which was 116 that Friday.
Got 15 Silver Strikes at several places. No luck getting the $40 one at Wynn's, but did win three $10 there.
Checked out of Wynn's Tuesday and drove down to South Point to meet fatboy & Wanda, had a nice chat. Then turned in the rent car & headed to McCarran.
Our redeye flight left on time @ 7:55 and got into Austin at 12:35am. Slept until 10 that morning.
Probably our last Vegas trip for some time, as we are burned out on the place.
Added note - I have never seen the place as crowded as it was that week, but it was pretty calm by Monday.
