hopefully I can get to the wynn in one hour from that point. I need to find a great meal there that will still be available at 10 or so when i'm done checking in.
Try the Terrace Point Cafe....that's their 24 hour coffee shop that overlooks the pool area. We had a good dinner there in July, and it was fairly reasonable.
Or there is Zoozacrackers....a "New York" style deli that's not bad for sammiches, soups, etc. I think it's open until 11pm.
The fancy restaurants close at 10:30 and are pricey. Check them out here: The Link
I had deplorable service at SW and will not go back ever. they dropped my steak off and did not check back one time for over 20 minutes, which is grave error.
Since we get in at 8:30 tomorrow, I booked Daniel Bouloud. I'd rather go to the standby Bouchon, but there would be time issues. Been wanting to try Daniel Bouloud for a while now.
David Burke is UNREAL. I can not stress it enough. I will be there one of the other two nights there. the third is up for grabs, but Rao's is in the lead right now. Loved that place in August.
Again though, I will NEVER visit vegas without going to David Burke.
Wow, we had a similar experience at Gallaghers in NYNY for a birthday dinner, but walked out. Gave the place a 2nd chance a year later and the food & service were both excellent.
A foodie gourmet I know swears Bartolotta is the finest restaurant he's ever dined in, but then again there's probably somebody who doesn't like it for one good reason or another.
how much are taxis from the strip to downtown? i am going for a bachelor party in january and we are staying at mandalay bay (basically as far from downtown as you can get on the strip).
Probably too late, but I saw the Le Reve show about 2-3 months ago. It was my first vegas show, so I dont really know what to compare it to so I will just throw out a couple of comments.
Nothing really jumps out at you that is 'death defying'. There are some pretty intricate acrobatic sequences done without nets and some really long plunges into the pool from far above, but very few scenes that made me gasp (now if I were up there doing it; different story)
Costumes and the whole theme were good. I was far more fascinated with the engineering aspect of how the pullies and cables worked (but that's just me).
If you are bald and have thin skin, it is probably not the show for you. The comic relief aspect of the show was OK and involved messing with bald guys a little bit. It was almost great but 2 of the 4 'clown' type guys did not nail all of their lines.
