Vegas Night Clubs Advice for Idiots

So what's the deal with getting into nightclubs out there?

Were staying at the Palazzo, and they have Lavo, and the Venetian has Tao.

Friends are staying at the Bellagio, which has The Bank.

Give me the idiot's guide on how to get in, and whether it is worth it. What the heck is all this about "club promoters"????

We're married couples, so were not looking to pick-up. Just spend at least one night doin' the club thing.

Call the club hosts directly if you want a table. Don't go to promoters.

You should be able to find the host names and contact info via google for any club you want.

if you have a girl with you, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting in... at least to Tryst at Wynn and XS at Encore.

Got into the bank pretty easily with my wife last summer. We didnt reserve a table so we got there pretty early by vegas standards and only had to wait 10-20 mins.

Vegas nightclub question. Why do the clubs make people wait to get in early when there's hardly anyone in the club? I have been before let's say at 10:00 pm, and of course, there's a line waiting to get in. And once in, there's hardly anyone inside. So why the hold up at the door under those conditions?

Funny story about Rain at The Palms. Its my bachelor party and because there are 13 of us, we decide to buy VIP tickets in advance (gets us to the front of the line AND we acknowledge it IS 13 guys). Tickets were +/- $60/person.

So we get in and within 10 minutes, 6 of the 13 have already been escorted out- trim the herd. Im sure your first thought is 'these guys must have been out of control or not had the LOOK Rain wanted in the club'. Actually just the opposite.

Initially we were all spread out throughout the club and all 6 got the same line from security- 'you look like you could be drunk and that is a safety threat.' So Rain got their money and then kicked a bunch of the guys, I can only assume to try and keep the guy to girl ratio in check- prevent the dreaded 'sausage fest'.

There, hwoever, is a good ending to this story- the guys who were kicked out all went and won quote a bit of $$$ at the craps tables. Those of us who stayed created stories about who we were and what we did, I was a professional bull rider, another a US diplomat to Bahrain, and had a GEM of an evening.
