Vegas getting desperate

They've started sending me "free" offers again.

I finally got a three free night offer for Encore (Wynn's new hotel next to the Wynn) - with $150 free play.

Just booked it for a couple weeks after we go to the Fiesta Bowl.

Flights on SWA are pretty cheap too, so we booked those @$94 each way (from Austin). Am saving our 4 r/t vouchers for a possible Hawaii trip later in the year.

Dollar rent car rates ain't bad either - Dodge Charger @$13.50/day.

Here's a look at their standard room suites (Scroll down for photos & room floor plan):

Wow, what does one have to do to get free offers from Wynn? I've stayed there 3 separate times in the last 2 years (from 4 to 6 nights each time, though always in one of the lower cost rooms, either the resort view or panoramic view rooms) and I'm on their mailing list but I've never been offered anything like that.

I have a players card and have stayed at the Wynn a couple of times. However, we gamble very little in their casino - maybe have dropped a total of $500-$600 in the slots since the place opened. That's about as low a roller can get in Vegas.

I know several different people who got the same offer without ever having stepped foot in the place. Just the luck of the marketing draw.

My son has stayed there a couple of times & played Blackjack @$25-$50/hand for several afternoons & evenings. He doesn't get offers that good.....I think maybe $169/night is the best one they sent him.

Don't worry, the way things are going out there they'll send more free offers out to more gamblers.

Barry, call 'em up and ask what their specials are. Identify yourself and say you are looking at a future trip and wondered if they had anything going on that was not listed.

If they don't offer it up mention you have been offered by a couple of other hotels you have stayed at previous to theirs and on you have never stayed at. Mention somebody you know who stays there less, gambles less than you has been offered Sco's deal. Ask if there is a way you can get that since you plan on doing your gambling in their casino as you have tended to in the past.

It may help. It may also put you on the list for all future promo's if you act on an offer and gamble there. Maybe.

That's good advice, but only if you talk directly to a casino marketing representative or host..

A reservation clerk sitting in a boiler room in Mumbai ain't gonna be able to do it.

Ask for a Casino Marketing Rep. They have offers that the Hotel itself does not offer, i.e. V.I.P. hosts. You should be able to get something in this economy. Good luck,

I don't see how just calling someone when you have zero history with that casino or another one, will get you anything.

I have a pretty good history with the Harrah's properties and even then I can only pull free nights at their second rate hotels (Harrahs, Paris, Rio) on the weekends.

According to his post he does have history and has gambled double the amount the person who got a special deal has.

Harrahs comp program has sucked donkey balls for a couple of years. MGM-Mirage is no better.

Off Strip & Downtown are where the best bargains and gambling are.

But since Phil Ruffin, owner of the demolished Frontier, just bought the TI (Treasure Island), that property might get interesting.

Wynn is just pimping his new Encore place for starters, so once it gets going the freebies will tighten up.

A local I know is going to the Encore opening this evening. Hopefully he won't be too shitfaced to write a decent report on his impressions of the place tomorrow morning.

The dude hasn't posted since then, so it must have been a pretty good party.

Or else he got back-roomed by Wynn.

But I did re-book our SWA flights - they emailed a $70 each way offer. So the two round trip flights are $320 total.......saved $98.

Also, car rentals out there are pretty cheap - booked a Charger for 3 days - $63 with all taxes & fees total.

Got same deal to the wynn, and I have donated very little to their operation in the past, though I have stayed there.
