The squad has waited a year to get back to this point, and for an opportunity to redeem last season's semi-final loss. I enjoyed reading Karch Kiraly's comments about Texas, and also his thoughts on the matchup with Minnesota (article on Texassports). It's the final four and I realize anything can happen, but the contest vs. the Gophers is one the Horns should win; IMO they have beaten more talented squads this season, and done so handily. I also found Hawaii coach Shoji's comments interesting...he said Penn State "was a very good team, but they're not perfect." I think most would say PSU is a great team, but you have to admire his confidence. I'm actually a little surprised to see Hawaii in the final four as I thought they were ranked too high during the season. I realize they beat UCLA and Stanford early on, but they also lost to Cal and the Horns, and then had a relatively easy conference schedule when compared to other top teams. And while they took a set off of us, they also lost two games by identical scores of 25-11...that's pretty shocking and even TT (2-27), Colorado (7-22) and Texas State played the Horns closer than that. I am going to be pretty stunned if PSU and the Horns don't end up in the final, and I still believe we can beat the Nittany Lions if we play at our best. But first things first...good luck tonight vs. the Gophers!!
