Texas plays UCLA in Austin Friday night 12/12/08 trying to advance to the elite eight. With a win, we will play the winner of Oregon-Iowa St on Saturday.

Sure would be great to have a huge Texas turnout yelling to encourage the team on to the final four in Omaha.

Come on Texans, support this team!!

Texas beats UCLA 3-1!! Scores of 25-11, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Iowa State pulled another upset against Oregon, so we advance to play them for a bid in the final four. Iowa State is a 29-12 team that we've beaten twice this season. We shouldn't have too much trouble with them, but they've been beating good teams and would love to win one more to make it to the Final Four.

Those that can go, pack Gregory and make it LOUD!!! Iowa State plays in Gregory every year, so let's make this the loudest they've ever heard it! Cheer for our ladies and send them to the Final Four!
 
5:30 it is. There was a great Texas crowd in Gregory tonight and at times it had an effect on UCLA. These were two wonderful defensive teams tonight and some of the rallies went on forever. Exciting volleyball.

The mantra of the team is one game at a time so we face a tough Iowa State team tomorrow. The Cyclones have now defeated 6th seed Minnesota and #11 Oregon. Should be a great match. UCLA was seeded #14. Y'all Come.
 
Boy, we didn't play that well tonight, especially after the first game. We were good enough to win, but we didn't look like the #3 team. Destinee seemed to be off most of the night. UCLA didn't even try to block Paolini most of the night (she had HYOOOGE numbers), so everyone else seemed to be facing a double block on every swing.

Hopefully, we got our off-night out of our system and still got a win out of it, because we have the talent to win it all.

It's a shame that it wasn't a sellout, but Gregory was still really rocking. I love that place!

ISU rallied from 2-0 back to win. We have a big size and experience advantage on them. I saw them earlier in the season, and they played really really well, but they're pretty small and play a lot of freshmen and sophomores. They'll be tough, but they'll be even tougher next season.
 
At 6'6" the middle blocker for UCLA put up the biggest block Destinee has faced all year. in my opinion. It was pretty obvious Hooker was stymied by the fourth set. Luckily our passing was decent enough to set the slide and let Pao go off on them.

If we get by ISU, I like our chances against Stanford in the rematch. We have improved greatly since the match in Omaha to start the year. We match up well with Stanford, there will be no surprises.
 
We played Stanford to five in a very close match in Omaha at the start of the season. We are a lot better now and I suspect they are as well.

I think we have a good chance against Stanford if they can get past Hawai'i. Hook 'em Horns!!

That was a great defensive match last night. I was concerned about having to go into a 5th set because UT looked tired. I will be their again tonight as well and would also like to encourage everyone to come out as well. Volleyball is a very exciting game to watch in person.
