Go with this link. For some reason the pdf in the article has the wrong opponents for the Nike Big 4 and has the Iowa State game on 11/24 being played at Gregory Gym when it's actually in Ames.
Very good schedule Jerritt put together. Both Texas tournaments have high quality competition coming in and will be much better matches than the typical UTA, UTSA or foreign opponent. Adding Louisville in the middle of the Big 12 conference schedule is a great idea and good preparation for that final four berth.
I like this class, and I am most excited about Nicole Dalton.
She is going to be able to provide the same versatility as Ashley Engle. She can hit, block, and most importantly, provide the ball control needed on serve-receive and backrow defense. It will be interesting to see if Elliot uses her in a 6-2, where she sets from the backrow, and hits/passes while in the front.
I know she, Molly, and Amy will be on campus this summer (I'm not sure about the other two). Hopefully, these three will be will be working out with the team, getting stronger physically, improving on their skills, and be able to adapt quickly to the speed of the college game so that they can contribute immediately this fall.
* I stand corrected. All freshmen are on campus at this time. Let's hope they will all be working hard and push the veterans to get better.
Great Schedule! I'm ecstatic that we are getting some good teams here for the 2 Texas Tournaments. I'm very happy we are playing Illinois again. Also like that we end the season with Iowa St. in Ames. That will be a good road test before the tournament starts. I can hardly wait until Aug 24th
From other message boards, MB Haley Cameron transferred to Santa Clara.
I'm still wondering why incoming transfer Libero, Megan Futch, isn't listed on the roster yet with the incoming Freshmen class. She trained and played with the team all Spring... Maybe it's a scholarship issue...with that many players on the roster, they probably were not able to give one to her...
And now DS Brissa Ochoa has been taken off the roster. She didn't play at all last season when she walked-on, but I think that was due mostly to her ankle injury...which had during the spring season as well.
From the time they published this on Sunday afternoon to Monday they made four rounds of changes, so I don't think anyone can safely say this is final. They seem to have no problem publishing drafts. The roster posted reflects everyone in the recruiting class, the only transfer I saw playing this past spring and the rumor about Haley Cameron. And they've added pictures to all the roster additions which would seem to be evidence of the fact these new players are in fact on campus.
