It will be hard to say no to a player with his ability. I think he is a definite yes if he wants to be here. Boom loves him!

Davis ended up at University of Central Florida. Against Texas, 22 carries for 71 yards (3.2).
 
If his Dad is a UNC fan he could also be one that is still miffed that Mack left. It made sense to leave and most fans understand this but it still stings. It could go either way or not have an impact at all.
 
Nlo question the kid is a stud athlete and, more importantly, a football player. Watching him block when lined up at tight end and knock the defender into the cheap seats was a thing of beauty. Kid could be a great TE, DE or linebacker. Very strong at the point of attack, skilled in using his hands, good recognition and as fast as anybody on the field in high school.
 
Kid seems to have his head on straight.. Nice to hear him discussing the acadimics as well as the sport side of things.. Good luck to him wherever he ends up. And lets hope it's in burnt orange. I have a feeling he's number 19.

based on this thread, it looks like he canceled his visit for a death in the family....so there probably is not an update on his visit.
 
...any word on whether or when Vaughters and dad will reschedule their visit to Austin? (I know, I know...I'm too cheap to buy a subscription to one of the services...)
 
All I know is what I see on youtube, but Vaughters looks pretty awesome as does Wallace. Could be an "in state" vs. "out of state" decision by coaches. Also maybe they had to cut back on LB offers in order to keep RB and OL offers on the table.

why not let the coaches decide what is lethal and what is not?
 
It strikes me as curious that Vaughters was getting plenty of interest from us, and all of a sudden, we're just not interested anymore. Was something said or done that turned Mack and Coach Boom off to Vaughters?
 
yeah, cool, i had the same thought.

we sure changed in a hurry. not just toward vaughters, but it seems to me that we have backed off in general. like we don't expect to have as much room as we originally thought.

or it might be that the hints floating about that we have multiple silent commitments might be true. that would certainly put a kink in our activity level.

didn't wallace visit the weekend vaughters was to have come? i wonder if he verbaled at that time. if so, you are right, bishop. but, like i say, i have faith in boom and gang to do the right thing.

i don't understand the value of silent commitment to the recruit. certainly the recruit has secured a place, but what benefit is there in keeping it quiet? i assume that silent commits don't take visits. so keeping quiet wouldn't be an advantage there.

in rare cases -- like hicks -- it might pay to hold off till close to signing, but i doubt many in-state guys feel that sort of need.

the two guys this year who might be in that position are turner and rasco. i don't think hegarty or the other out of state interests would be.
