Varez Ward

Freshman Varez Ward had 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Texas. Way to go Varez!

I was really impressed with Ward last night. he is really fast with the ball in his hands. he gets by with people with ease and, at least in last night's game, had a knack for finding the open man.

additionally, he looks to be a great on the ball defender.

I can't recall whether he got the ship that would've gone to Evans...but suffice to say that if that is the case, I'd say things worked out for the better.

This is just a glimpse of how good this kid will be once he finds his role.
Varez can dribble drive to the front of the rim and he will be more consistant in the 12-15 foot mid-range and always play defense in your jock.
This kid was way above average high school PG for a very good prep school and will just get better in the next 3 years.

The lockdown defense when we have Mason, Ward, AJ, Dex, and Damion/or Johnson is the best so far that we have seen. When CA is playing well he just make it better.
The defense will keep us in a lot of close game against quality team down the road.
