Damn damn damn damn!

This guy was really coming on for us. I know we have tons of depth, but you can never have enough guards. He's a hell of a defender and will be greatly missed.

Get well Varez. Look forward to seeing more from you next year!

Rat Farts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, that sux for the young man bigtime.

Get well Varez.

That is awful. Maybe J'Covan Brown, Alexis Wangmene and maybe Jordan Shipley can talk to him about missing a year and how best to deal with it.

Good luck Varez. The team is going to miss you as well as the fans.

That's a shame on several levels. He was having a great start this year - I hate this for us and for him. However, surely he'll be able to stay an extra year.

I had **exactly** this injury to BOTH knees (different occasions). He's going to need 6 weeks in a cast, then several weeks of rehab. Depending on how well he heals, he'll play next year. I was much older (so arthritis etc created complications) than him when I had it happen, and I've had 8 operations (total) because I kept getting partial tears after I started walking again.

This is a seriously violent injury. He may be done.

I would imagine that his best bet, regardless of whether, or not he MIGHT be able to come back at the tail end of this season, is taking the rest of the year off to rehab it completely and getting a medical redshirt. With our depth at guard, why risk it for a few games when he can get the year over again?

Third: My father suffered this injury six months ago. He's not close to what he was before. I don't think coming back in three months is even possible.

Yeah, but I couldn't find J'Covan's stats in the ESPN box score. Until I finally noticed the line for Varez Ward.

Was on a flight from Houston to Birmingham, AL today and saw Varez Ward on the flight traveling with someone from the Sports Medicine department. I guess he's getting some work done in Birmingham. He was on crutches but was also putting *some* weight on his leg.

Sorry there isn't more. I wasn't about to cram myself (6'5", 260lbs) into the 3rd seat with them when it wasn't going to be a full flight and the seats across the aisle were some old ladies. The empty exit row was calling my name.

Hope he has a very smooth recovery for next season!
