If you haven't seen or heard these young kids, give them a shot. Really infectious music. They're the next big thing which proabaly means they'll be gone in 6 months.

Dammit, why did you post the info on the free show? I wanted the crowds to be small.

They are pop, they are not popular music

I like them, my point is that they are not trying to be radio friendly popular music. They are "popular" amongst the indie crowd but they are not popular to the masses. As much as I like their sound they will never become mainstream.

they are "popular" with the indie crowd because pitchfork gave them a good review. haha, just kidding. or...maybe I wasn't.

"is this what kids are listening to nowdays?" I think I remember hearing my Dad say that about my first Twisted Sister record, circa 1983. if popular music didn't progress we'd all still be doing the ******* minuet.

I am very much looking forward to a non-indy SXSW.

I go for the metal, jazz, rock, country, and singer songwriter showcases.

Less crowded and no ironic clothing.

the entire lineup starting at 12:30 is solid.

Tough to say when to get there. The damn thing could be packed by noon or at 2. VW comes on at 4. I think I am going to try and be there by 2. The Parish is a decent sized venue for a day party so there's a chance that getting in won't be a problem at all. So in other words, I have no idea.

If it's packed I'm headed to Emo's to see The Stills, Tokyo Police Club, Shout Out Louds and Tapes N Tapes

Unpainted, is that emo's show free as well. I just heard Los Campesinos (they sound pretty freaking awesome) and they are playing at emo's on small stage tomorrow also.

I've only heard their song "A-Punk", but it's not bad. They sound like an American band trying to evoke The Police and The Specials. Beats the hell out of whatever emo flavor of the moment is trying to ruin my ears.
