I'm not sure the point of this post (or the news story for that matter). Mother Ginger is played by a different person every night during Ballet Austin's Nutcracker. I've been several times and that role is typically played by someone with Austin ties. I've seen local media folks, educators, business owners, government officials, musicians, and philanthropists all play Mother Ginger (male and female).

It's a hilarious part of the ballet where local kids and a non-dancer (VY in this case) play to the crowd. It's supposed to look ridiculous.
