UTEP loses top tackler for 2008

Braxton Amy will miss the 2008 season with a torn ACL. He had 112 tackles last season. This year he was slated to play the hybrid LB/S Miner position.

That sucks. Don't like to hear of a player ever getting hurt, of course. But this means we may not be as dooooomed.

Evil Roy williams and Teddy Lehman could start for the Miners next year with Buddy Ryan calling the D and Texas would still put up 50 with ease.

Amy was probably going to be the best defender this year, but they had and absolutely horrible D last year. 2nd to last in D1, maybe finished dead last. Hell Rice put up 56 on the UTEP D.
