Are they going to be any good this year?

As some of y'all may know from previous posts, my 10 year-old daughter plays club soccer at a very high level. Her team is currently #1 or #2 in the state of TN. They just finished beating the crap out of a couple of very good teams from the Atlanta area in a tourney last month.

Anyway, I'm really excited as I just noticed that TX plays at UK in Lexington in August. We'll definitely be able to make that game. Though, my daughter has yet to make it to Austin to visit, she is absolutely in love with anything that has to do with The University and/or soccer. So this is going to be awesome.

My first question is a repeat of my opening sentence...are we going to be very good this year?
Secondly, does anyone have any experience or know of any contacts on the team? I'd love for her to be able to meet some of the players; maybe get an autograph or two. I normally wouldn't even go this far; however, seeing as how there couldn't possibly be that many TX fans in Lexington to distract the girls, it seems like an easy request to make.

Thanks in advance...
Ty

We lost some good seniors after last year's very successful season and playoff run but we also have some good ones back and I think we will have another good season with a good chance to have another good run. We have recruited very well and I think the team will get better and better as the season goes along.
I don't have contacts but these ladies are very approachable after the games and you can get pictures and autographs from these ladies. I haven't got to go to the Big 12 Tournaments for two years as in the past but when I got there I met Stephanie Logterman's parents in the stands and went my young son went with them and got autorgraphms and photos. You can do the same thing after the game. They are outstanding young ladies and will be glad to take pictures and autographs with your daughter.
Looking forward to hopefully having your daughter play here and have folks approach her for autographs or pictures.

I think we will do fine. The defense should be solid, with all the key players returning. We are less experienced at the offensive end, but I think the incoming class will contribute a lot here.

BTW - There is a chance that (incoming) Amanda Lisberger will miss much of the season if she ends up on the U-20 Korean team. I have heard zero about any of that, so I have no idea if that is likely or not. My Korean skills are not good enough to try and read any official websites. I don't think any of the players are in the current USA mix.

As far as making contacts, I'd look for the parent-aged fans in burnt orange in the stands, they probably aren't too hard to find. Since there are two games in KY, my guess is that several will make the trip, although I don't really know. The team signs autographs after home games, so I'm sure you can talk them into signing some.

I remember the Korean girl. I was watching some show on FSC about the National Championship games for the U-18 and U-17 girls. I think her team was from California. My daughter got so excited when she talked about going to TX in an interview.

I'm glad the girls are accessible. I figured as much. I just don't want to be "that guy."

You might contact Pam Smith, Administrative Associate (512) 471-7568, to check on availability of meeting players

BTW - Seemingly Republic of Korea did not qualify for the WU-20 tournament, so I don't see any reason Lisberger won't be around next year.
