I live in NE Oklahoma and go to a lot of games in Neb, Kansas and MO in Oct and Nov. Where in the hell can I get a heavy Horn winter coat. Nothing @ co-op or horns limited

help!!!

I think his point was that it doesn't get cold in Texas and therefore there is not much of a market for winter Longhorn coats — so one may not be available.

I bought a UT parka that I am able to ski in at the Co-op, but that was when Reebok was still our sponsor. Does Rooster Andrews have a website anybody??

Coincidentally my wife pointed out a burnt orange winter coat to me this morning that is in the November 2004 Lands End catalogue (page 36). I have fished the catalogue out of the trash just to respond to you. The coat is item # 9295-7235 for mens regular sizes Small through XXL. There is also a Mens Tall (item # 9295-8230). Lands End will mongram team logos on some merchandise (I have one of their longhorn logo shirts), so you can check on getting the coat monogrammed by them. The price for the jackets is $99.50 (or $108 for the Tall). It is damned sharp looking. Features include: removeable hood, water resistant, breathable, weather rated from 0 to minus 20 degrees, ticket and cell phone pockets inside, machine washable. They call it their "Squall Parka".

You might be able to find this on their web site (www.landsend.com) or you can call them at (800) 356-4444 to ask questions or place an order. Also, since Sears bought out Lands End, you can find some of the Lands End line at Sears (they may at least have a catalogue there if you can't find it online).

BTW, orange must be a strong color this fall because there are a lot of orange clothing items in this catalogue, although most of them are the gaudy Okie St. orange.

I would add to Kahuna's post that Lands' End stuff is great quality. Since Sears bought them they have not messed with them. I have had a squall jacket for the better part of 10 years, and it is still in great shape, although I am tired of the color.

And their return policy is very good. I had a sweater that got moth holes in it, wrote to them asking for some matching yarn to get it fixed, as I lost the little card that originally came with the sweater. They no longer carried the sweater (or the yarn) but took my sweater back and gave me credit to get another one. Another time, I bought a pair of pants and they ended up not fitting. I put them back in the package with the intention of sending them back and somehow they got put up on a closet shelf and forgotten for a while. Almost a year later I found them, called and explained the situation, they took the pants back, full value, no questions asked. Got a pair that fit.

Lands End

They also have a regular squall in burnt orange.

You can get a Longhorn on the squall! Or any number of other items!

Oh - Mac - all I meant was that Sears did not come in and try to change LE when they bought them. Their quality has not suffered, yet, because they are now a part of Sears. Hopefully it won't either.

mis·no·mer n.

1. An error in naming a person or place.

2. Application of a wrong name.

3. A name wrongly or unsuitably applied to a person or an object.

The point here is that misnomer is not simply another word for "mistake."
