The match is tomorrow (Thursday April 16) at 6 P.M. in College Station. The Aggies are ranked No. 13 and we are at No. 14 and it should be a great tough match. Those that can please go to the match to support our team and if you can't then encurage them when you see them with a Hook 'em Horns sign. This is also an important point in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown and one we really need to get.

Wow, we definitely turned the doubles around and ended up winning that point. We sure did start off slow though.
 
We've started off slow in the Singles. The Aggies have already got two points and lead in the competition now 2 - 1.
Some of our players are really going to have to step up now to get it. I think we have a chance for two of the remaining 4 points but that isn't going to win it.
 
We are currently up a break in two matches in the second set, but Miguel is going to have to be the one who can come through. He is tough and can do it, but this is going to be a tough one.
 
Two of our players got a second set win so it is now up to the third set. But we still need at least one more set in the remaining matches to have a shot at winning it and the matches are close. Come on Horns! Fight and Win! You can do it!

Really need to pull off #1 and #3 and find a split some where else for a clutch third set.
#6 singles hurt a lot. I know both players in that matchup from my ties to Texas junior and UIL tennis and would not have guest that as the result.
 
I agree. It is looking bad. When you lose all your first matches in singles it isn't good. The Horns are fighting but starting out on the wrong foot can be costly.
 
Horns just dropped this one 4-2. Tough start in the singles and that ended up being a large hole to dig out of. The Big 12 is tough and both teams will have an opportunity to do well in the NCAAs.
 
Aggies get the fourth point and cinch the match and the State Farm Lone Star Showdown point.
I knew it was going to be a tough match so I am not really shocked or surprised since both teams are highly ranked and closely ranked plus the Aggies had the home advantage which is always a big help for them at CS.

I am disappointed in not getting the Lone Star point because even though I think we will get another point and at least tie for the competition it will be tough to get the other point and win it. Remember the Aggies retain the cup in case of a tie but hey - I don't want to tie or lose to the Aggies in nothing. Losing this point is a blow this year.
 
As Shertz has said both teams should do well in the NCAAs and if we could win the NC I would gladly trade it for this match even if it cost us the Lone Star Cup.

Hard match to lose, but hey...it happens.

We need a point and a half to regain the cup.

Men's Golf
Women's Golf
Baseball
Men's Track
Women's Track
Softball

If we cannot get one point out of those sports and the half point from softball.........those coaches need to get a reality check.
 
After beating them 7-0 in a pre conference tourney this is a tough loss. Really puts the pressure on the mens golf team and now baseball becomes basically a must win. The upset the men pulled off in indoor track and field is now huge because it makes up for this lost point but all the room for error just went out the window tonight.
 
Big 12 Championship Semis rematch with the ags:
Texas again takes the doubles point and has gotten off to a MUCH better start in singles play. The horns have won four first sets and need to close three of those matches out to make the final. This would be a good win for the good guys going into the NCAA and would hopefully allow the horns to host a regional.

That makes 2 of 3 against the Ags but the SF point went to aggy. Remensicent of soccer a few years ago where Texas beat the ags twice but lost the one that counted as the point.
 
Hey FWHORN I would gladly take up the two soccer games rather than the one that counted as the point which puts the competition in prospective. Still I would like to have all three.
