UT Swimming and Diving

[UT Horn Fan]

I am going to my first NCAA swimming and diving meet this weekend. Should be a good one with #3 Texas women vs. #2 Arizona and #1 Texas men vs. #3 Arizona. Arizona's men & women are defending national team champions. There will be numerous olympians and world class talent.

I've got a couple of questions for those who have been before. The Horns are in a dual meet this weekend - Friday/Saturday. Generally how long do these meets last? Because I'm going straight from work, I'll need to eat. Do they have concessions in the Jamail Center? If not - do they allow outside food/drinks in?

Any advice from the veterans out there is appreciated.

They will have concessions and the Dual meets usually last 4-6 hours. Ricky Berens is an animal, watch that guy for sure.

The women did an excellent job of defeating #2 Arizona, but the men couldn't hold off #1 Arizona men. This was my first Texas swim meet to go to. It was convenient because is was right before the basketball game. I definitely plan on attending more of these in the future.

Was bummed to see that the men lost. Oh well, they have plenty of time to decrease times before the NC meet (in College Station by the way!). It seems like we have stars at free, but the strokes are weaker this year than in the past.

The Men's Swimming and Diving have competition this Friday against the Aggies in Austin so those in or near Austin that can please go support our Horns so they can get back to their winning ways and get us an important point in the State Farm Showdown competition.

A few of the Arizona men suited up. My understanding is that none of the UT guys wore suits. We'll see which team peaks at the right time.....
