Was watching Pawn Stars last night and during a montage of their merchandise there was a shot of a UT Big 12 Championship ring

head towards downtown on Las Vegas Blvd. Go south (right) at the fork. It'll be on the right...the shop with the huge line in front of it.

We were in there looking around. NONE of the guys on tv are there as they are too popular to mingle these days (the other workers words). We had to leave the shop as filming was going to start.

Chumlee is a local superstar. The whole shop is merchandise for him.

We assume all these rings are sold by down and out players needing cash but it isnt always the case. One episode of Pawn Stars showed a guy trying to sell a Patriots Super Bowl Ring, but they explained all rings arent created (and valued) equal.

The most valuable and rare rings on the market are Player and Coaches rings. These rings are personalized with the players name and can be proven to be owned by a particular player or coach. Some of those do get sold but it's not very common. Most rings on the market are called Team Rings that were given to office staff, team officials etc. They usually arent personalized with a name and may or may not be diamonds or CZs. There are also a lot of duplicate rings made by the manufacturer Balfour, Jostens, etc, that are used for displays, promotions, etc. Some of these end up on the market too.

Which is why I believe the one there is a players ring, as I believe they said it wasn't worth buying a non player or non coach ring.

I get a kick out of that show. Favorite two things were when the redneck thought he found a stradovirus in an abandoned house and when the lady came in to pawn her carved ivory tusk only to find out it was fake ivory. Even after she left she was convinced it was real. lol
